We can’t believe that another school year has come to an end. We really had such an enjoyable and fun-filled year.
There was great excitement in school today, on our last day, as the pupils with the highest levels of attendance for the school year received awards for their wonderful effort. This year we had 5 pupils who had perfect attendance which is such a fantastic achievement. Well done to everyone!
We would like to wish everyone a happy, healthy and safe summer and we are looking forward to seeing you all again in September!
As always, the excitement on our last day of school was tinged with sadness, as we bid farewell to our wonderful 6th class boys and girls, Darragh, Jason, Matt, David, Stephen, Ruairí and Chloe.
We will miss them all but wish them continued success and happiness as they graduate from national school and move into a new and exciting chapter of their lives in secondary school.
Yesterday, our senior room had a very exciting day! We travelled to McHale Park in Castlebar for a football blitz.
Our excitement heightened when we realised that we were getting the opportunity to play on the main pitch in Mc Hale park, a first for all of us! We played three matches against Killasser N.S, Clogher N.S and Crimlin N.S., we won one, drew one and lost one. We each received a medal for our participation and great effort.
Overall a very successful day was had, have a look at some of the photos from the day.
A very big congratulations and well done to Susanna who recently won a prize in the Mayo Mental Health Art competition.
This years theme was ‘What makes me happy’ and Susanna drew a picture of all her hobbies, including surfing, walking and playing outside.
Susanna and her family travelled to Breaffy House Hotel in Castlebar recently to collect her prize, where she was awarded with a €20 voucher for Easons.
A super achievement and we are all very proud of her here at Glencorrib N.S.
On Monday, we all enjoyed a school sports day.
In the morning, we had great fun competing in lots of fun races including egg and spoon, three legged race and the sack race.
In the afternoon, our teachers set up different activities for us including a ‘Throw the Welly’ and ‘Picking Potatoes’ competition.
We all had a great, fun-filled day!
On Thursday the senior room travelled to Bay Sports in Athlone for their school tour.
We had a jam packed, fun-filled day. Firstly we were shown how to make a camp fire, although the best part of this was when we got to toast marshmallows on it! Next the water activities began when we took part in a water based obstacle course, followed by lots of jumping, swimming and splashing at the water park. During the day we also got to practise our driving skills by racing in the go-karts and the pedal boats.
It was a brilliant day out and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Needless to say we were a tired bunch on the bus on the way home!
Have a look at some of the pictures from our trip.
