We can’t believe that another school year has come to an end. We really had such an enjoyable and fun-filled year.
There was great excitement in school today, on our last day, as the pupils with the highest levels of attendance for the school year received awards for their wonderful effort. This year we had lots of pupils who had excellent attendance which is such a fantastic achievement. Well done to everyone!
We would like to wish everyone a happy, healthy and safe summer and we are looking forward to seeing you all again in September!
As always, the excitement on our last day of school was tinged with sadness, as we bid farewell to our wonderful 6th class pupils, Matthew, Michaela and Luke.
We will miss them all but wish them continued success and happiness as they graduate from national school and move into a new and exciting chapter of their lives in secondary school.
Yesterday, our 2nd – 6th class pupils had a very exciting day! We travelled to McHale Park in Castlebar for a football blitz.
It was a great honor to play on the main pitch at McHale Park, which was definitely a first for most of us! We played three matches in total. We each received a medal for our participation and great effort.
This week we have had a very busy and fun week as we have been participating in ‘Active School Week’. Every day each classroom has taken part in a different activity.
We have had a real variety of activities including orienteering, tag rugby, rounders and football. We also ventured out for a whole school 4km walk on Tuesday!
Munteoir Lorraine’s room have been extra busy as they travelled to Bekan on Wednesday for a small schools activity day and to Claremorris for an athletics day on Friday.
On Thursday, we held our annual ‘Sports Day’ which included a number of races such as sprints, relays, egg and spoon race, sack race and the three legged race. As an extra surprise, the ice-cream van also visited us during Sports Day and we all enjoyed a delicious ice-cream cone!
Have a look at some pictures from our fun filled week!
Over the last number of weeks the senior room have been learning about procedural oral language and writing.
On Tuesday, we broke up into teams and presented our own baking show where we explained and demonstrated how to make a chocolate biscuit cake.
We really enjoyed this activity, although, we must admit that our favourite part was sampling the cake afterwards!
