Best Kept School in Mayo 2016!

We are delighted to announce that Glencorrib National School has been named the overall winner of ‘Best Kept School in Mayo’ at the Mayo County Council 2016 Cleaner Community Awards.

Múinteoir Orna, together with six pupils, attended the awards ceremony which was held in the offices of Áras an Chontae in Castlebar on Monday the 21st of November. They were presented with a monetary prize of €600 and a certificate acknowledging our wonderful achievement.

This is the second time that we have won this prestigious award and is attributed to all our hard work and efforts in the continuous up-keep of our school both inside and out, and especially the addition of our new sensory garden and playground mural.

We are incredibly proud to have won the top title in this highly-esteemed environmental awards scheme and will continue to keep up the good work!
