Today we celebrated World Book Day.
We had a very special visit from a local author Kate Kelly. Kate kindly read an extract from her new book ‘Hayward’s Unexpected Dawn Adventure’. Kate’s books are inspired by her interest in and love for local wildlife and she spoke to us about the importance of conservation, especially with regard to the hedgehog.
Also, as part of ‘World book Day’ we all dressed up as our favourite book character. We have all been busy bees over the last couple of weeks making our own costumes, with a little help from mums and dads! We really enjoyed dressing up and I think everyone will agree that all our costumes are fantastic!
Well done to everyone for making a tremendous effort. The judges had a very difficult time deciding on the winners, but congratulations to our winners:
1st Place – Harry and Cathal as ‘The Farmer and Shaun the Sheep
2nd Place – Ciara as ‘Gansta Granny’
3rd Place – Eleanor as a ‘Soldier Card’ from Alice in Wonderland
Have a look at some pictures from our day…
